Naalu Policeum Nalla Irundha Oorum (English: Four policemen and a town that used to be trouble-free) is a Tamil comedy film written and directed by Srikrishna. The film features Arulnithi and Remya Nambeesan in the leading roles.[2] The film was highly panned by critics for its poor story and screenplay. The movie failed to perform well at the box office. It is loosely based on the 1939 British film Ask a Policeman.[3]
The film starts with an outsider coming to the village to provide invitations to the people there. There is a police station with one sub-inspector Chelladurai (Bagavathi Perumal) and 3 constables. The village is apparently winning the award from President for being a model village. People are very honest and hardworking, and there are no problems in the village. The policemen lead a very peaceful life because of the villagers. They work from 9 to 5 and are closed on Sundays. The police station is used for playing board games and watching TV along with the villagers. Constable Shanmughapandian (Arulnithi) is a daydreamer and has a liking to a schoolteacher Subha (Remya Nambeesan). However, he is unable to propose to her. Since the village is clean without any crimes, the higher official plans to transfer them to another village well known for riots. Saddened by this, the four policemen create trouble for the villagers.

Padhinettampadiyan (Singampuli) and Chelladurai ask a favor from a thief (Yogi Babu) to steal things so they can file a case. However, all their attempts fail. How their actions cause change among the villagers and their lives is the rest of the film.

The film was first reported in July 2013, when Leo Visions announced that newcomer director Srikrishna would make a film starring Arulnithi in the lead role.[4]

Arulnithi began filming for the project in December 2013 and revealed he played a day-dreaming cop constantly brought back to reality by his superior, adding that it will be his first comedy film.[5]

Arulnithi leads a four-man police team composing of Singampuli and actors Bagavathi Perumal and Rajkumar, who had starred in the production house’s first venture Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (2012).[6] Ramya Nambeesan plays Arulnithi’s love interest in the film.[7]

The team shot fight sequences at Binny Mills, Chennai in February 2014.

Akkineni Nagarjuna was born on 29 August 1960 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu[9] to veteran actor Nageswara Rao Akkineni and his wife Annapoorna Akkineni. The family later moved to Hyderabad, where he attended the Hyderabad Public School and Little Flower Junior College. He completed one year of his Bachelor of Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, and earned his B.S. in Automobile Engineering from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.[10][11]

Nagarjuna has been married twice. In 1984, he married Lakshmi Daggubati, a member of the Daggubati family which is prominent in the Telugu film industry. She is the daughter of D. Ramanaidu, a prominent film-maker, and sister of the actors Venkatesh and Suresh Babu. Lakshmi bore Nagarjuna a son, the actor Naga Chaitanya (born in 1986). However, the couple divorced in 1990, an event which caused much upheaval in the Telugu film industry because of the falling out of its two most prominent families. Nagarjuna then married the actress Amala Akkineni. By his second wife, Nagarjuna is the father of another son, the actor Akhil Akkineni (born 1994).

After a courtship from November 2015, his elder son Chaitanya got engaged to actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu on 29 January 2017.[12] Chaitanya and Samantha tied the knot in Goa, performing a Hindu religious ceremony on 6 October and a Christian ceremony on 7 October. Both were private ceremonies, where only close friends and family were present.

Career
Nagarjuna began acting as a child artist with dialogues in the 1967 Telugu film Sudigundalu directed by veteran Adurthi Subbarao. But he appeared as a infant in movie “Velugu Needalu” appearing in the song “Challani Vennela” penned by Sri Sri. Both movies starred his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the lead role. Years later he made his debut as a lead actor through the 1986 Telugu film Vikram, directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao. It is the remake of the 1983 Hindi film Hero. The film was a success, giving Nagarjuna a good start.
Immediately, he saw another success, Siva. This film marked the debut of leading Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma. The film is based on college politics, a new genre at that time. In 1990, he subsequently made his Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of the same film titled Shiva. Even the Hindi version saw a huge box-office success. He then starred in the social problem film Jaitra Yatra, for which he received critical reception. He followed it up with average fare like Prema Yuddham, Nirnayam and Iddharu Iddhare. All these films did nothing exceptional to Nagarjuna’s career as they were only moderately acclaimed and saw only average success.

He followed it up with box office hits like Killer, Neti Siddhartha, Chaitanya, and Nirnayam, working with eminent directors such as Fazil, Prathap Pothen and Priyadarshan. Nagarjuna thus gained the tagline “Celluloid Scientist” for experimenting with different genres. Other films which were released in the subsequent years include President Gari Pellam, Varasudu, Gharana Bullodu and Allari Alludu. Among them, President Gari Pellam, Gharana Bullodu and Allari Alludu were big hits at the box office.

In 1994 he starred in the Hindi-Telugu bilingual Criminal directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In the same year he ventured into comedy for the first time with Hello Brother. This was later remade into Hindi as Judwaa and dubbed into Tamil. In 1996, Nagarjuna starred and produced Ninne Pelladata, which was directed by Krishna Vamsi. The movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu. The next year, Nagarjuna acted in Annamayya, in which he portrayed the role of Annamacharya, a 15th-century Telugu singer and poet. This won him his Filmfare Best Actor Award and his first Nandi Award for Best Actor. He also received a National Award for Special Mention for the film Annamayya. His subsequent releases were Nuvvu Vastavani, Ninne Premistha and Azad.

He starred in romantic comedies such as Santosham, Manmadhudu, and Shivamani. He produced Satyam in 2003, which starred his nephew Sumanth. In 2004, Nagarjuna had two releases, Nenunnanu and Mass. The latter was produced by Nagarjuna and directed by choreographer Lawrence Raghavendra. In 2005, Nagarjuna acted in and produced Super. In 2006, he starred in Sri Ramadasu, his second period film based on the 18th-century Telugu composer of the same name.[13] Nagarjuna received the Nandi Award for Best Actor for the film. In December 2007, he appeared in Don and a year later, he appeared in King alongside Trisha Krishnan and Srihari.
